What do you think of the new Tesla Model S method of shifting? It allegedly automatically detects which gear it needs to be in, based on sensors. And if the driver needs to select forward or reverse, they do it through the touch screen interface.

One of the stupidest ideas in car world. I understand Tesla wants to be a pioneer in advanced technology but this is ridiculous.

Tesla can add this technology. I don't mind that. Tesla should add back the column shifter, so people don't have a heart attack. Otherwise, it's a bad idea.
