HI,   i have a 2010  2.0L petrol Honda CR-V (assembled in the UK)  with 100.000km (60k miles),  Automatic i have owned the car since 2015 and serviced the engine oil religiously  changed the coolant changed the PCV valve ect.  during the last oil change i smelt a distinct petrol smell coming from the  old engine oil, so i put new oil in and i can  still smell  petrol from the oil cap 2 moths after the oil change. The car doesnt burn a drop of oil  inbetween oil changes . The long term fuel trim is 0.7 , and i hope i am right in assuming that there is not a dripping fuel injector (because  she always starts first time also when the engine is warm).   According to the  think car diag computer the  fuel cut does enable when turning the engine off. The car doesnt smoke at start up.

The compression readings where as follows: DRY: cyl 1= 155psi CYL2:160psi CYL3:140psi Cyl4:165psi

WET: CYL1:185psi CYL2:195 psi CYL3:190PSI CYL 4:190psi .

The valve clearance  has been checked and was well within speck.., the spark advance does jump around slightly at idle i am assuming weak chain tensioner.

Am i right in assuming sticking or worn  piston rings ? is there anything i am forgetting to check , is it worth changing the piston rings ? or should i simply change the oil 2 a year

Regards Alex

I would be checking the function of the EVAP control system.

Thanks for the reply will check that out 🙂

Maybe do a Leak Down test. It will tell you if you need rings.
