2011 Honda CR-V LX 2WD 70k miles. I have a new starter ready to put in. I’ve watched a few videos, and there seems to be two methods to get it out:
1. From the bottom. Seems easier to me, but there’s very little working room and you have to wiggle the heck out of the starter to get it out. Also it involves removing the plastic splash guard which involves the stupid plastic clips.
2. From the top: much more working room, and no crawling around under the car (I have a jack not a lift) but involves taking the intake manifold off or at minimum moving it out of the way and some other stuff might have to come apart. Once that’s out of the way though it comes right out with all that working room. Flashlight possibly not needed.
Let me know what you guys think.
I do it from the top or moving the manifold. It isn't really all that much work. It just looks bad
