Full size spare wheel mounting

I have a 2009 Toyota Camry and got a full size spare wheel from Discount tire. I had a flat recently and when I tried to put the spare I found that nuts align correctly but when I place the wheel it seems like the center hole is not completely flush with the car and center hole (I don't know the actual terms) seems slightly bigger. At store they told it is generic wheel and not Camry specific and he showed me while mounting spare wheel while tightening the nuts slightly lift the wheel with your feet, so as you tighten the nuts wheel will move and be flush with car. And he showed me.

I am still not so comfortable going with the spare tire. I cannot explain problem accurately as I don't the name of parts involved but hope you get the problem I am having with after market spare. Original spare I can just put it on and tighten whereas as per the rep at store, aftermarket one I need to lift up slightly and tighten. If you can share your thoughts it will be great and give peace of mind.

Just go to eBAY and find a used wheel applicable to fit your vehicle to be sure the center hub fits tightly and securely on your vehicle.

You can try a local junkyard and price them as well.

You can solve that with a hub centric ring (Click here for more info).

Good luck!

that would be the wheel "bore".

You should try to find the correct wheel for your car
