I need a large SUV with off-road capabilities. I have 3 adults, 2 teenagers, and a large and medium-sized dog. We need something that has good off-road capabilities because our family cottage is only accessible via an unmaintained road that is a muddy mess. I currently have a Jeep Wrangler, which usually has no problem, but it can get a little harry when the road is really muddy and wet.
In my area, there aren't many SUVs that fit our requirements. I have found a 2018 Nissan Armada SL with 63,000 KM and a 2016 GMC Yukon with 117,000 KM. Both have 4WD drive, and I have test drove them both. The Yukon seems to be roomier, which I think is an advantage, but it has some rust spots on the gate and underneath I am a little concerned about. The Armada is pretty mint but a mechanic friend said that it will be expensive to maintain.
Do you fine folks have an opinion on these two vehicles? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
Welcome to the forum
I doubt you will get many positive comments about either of them on this forum. But it could come down to specifics of the individual vehicles.
You describe the Nissan as lower mileage (kilometerage?) and better condition. I assume the asking price reflects that.
The decision should come down to inspection report, maintenance records, fuel efficiency, and repair costs (which as you say is likely higher on the Nissan) because those factors will determine the long term cost of ownership.
But even more than that, which seller do you think is more trustworthy?
Thank you Dad2LM2. I appreciate the advice!
