so i have 2009 Pontiac g8 6.0 engine with 125k miles. the outer tie rods need replace they're are the originals and they're sealed, found there's serviceable one (with grease ball) from ac delco. so the question is should I buy the sealed one since they lasted that long or buy the one with grease ball? i am planning to keep the car for long.

Since I do my own maintenance, I always get GREASE ABLE parts with the zerk fitting.

thanks. so I should get the grease able one but is there any chance that it the grease in it will leak out since its not a sealed system?

If the grease will leak out; it would be from the rubber part regardless if it's got the zerk fitting or not. Whichever you get, just make sure it's a quality part, not some cheap Chinese junk that'll fall apart in a couple of years

guess I'll buy the grease able one. thanks everyone for the help!

I always buy replacement parts with grease fittings. Because they are serviceable, they last longer. If you don't want to do maintenance and would rather replace, then get sealed.

thanks will do!

If you're concerned about grease leaking out of the zerk fittings you can take those out and install plugs. Back when cars came from the factory with greaseable joints they frequently came with plugs and you'd have to install your own zerks to do a grease job, then replace the plugs when done.

For example:

much thanks for the info!

Just check that the zerks on the new parts are removable (I've never seen any that weren't but these days who knows), and you'll need to match the threads.

thanks i'll make sure of that
