2016 GMC Acadia, front wheel drive, 3.6 litre. Intermittent grinding noise when accelerating from a stop in cold weather. Does not make any noise when outside temps are above 50 degrees.

Check the wheel bearings.
I thought about that but I just now remembered that I was sitting in the Acadia while in PARK on a particularly cold day and when I pressed the gas pedal I heard the noise a few times.
