Hello honda owners - 2010 accord transmission fill line

I did a transmission drain n fill on my 2010 accord today. Mech filled it up to cold mark but NOT on swigly line. I re-checked my car on flat surface when car was cold later and fluid was filled to Cold mark on picture attached below. My question is do I have to fill to swiggly line? Asking because he only used 3 quarts, instead of 4 dealership told me I needed.

Thanks

edit: originally put 3 liters, turned out it needed 3.5 liters. problem solved thanks

What’s the specified transmission fluid quantity mentioned in your owner’s manual? How much fluid did you drain out, did you measure it?

Is this the same mechanic who overfilled your engine oil?

couldnt measure cos it all went in a pan. https://gyazo.com/67fb8706a2820e5b2a8c301a7199700f
looks like needs to be on the swiggly line so i guess needs the last quart

and yea not completely his fault, was done in my garage at slight decline

One of the first things to do when checking fluid levels, is having the car on a flat surface. Normally, it should be between the low & high marks. Measure it again on a flat surface, and add the correct fluid if it’s below the low mark.

A few questions...

How much was drained? If you drained 4 quarts AND the dealership said to put 4 quarts, then 4 quarts should have been put in, not 3. Did the mechanic have a reason to put 3 does he have the experience?

yeah mechanics not the problem. he opened the manual and said it gotta be up to cold but owner manual says between high and low mark

How much was there before? 4 or 3 quarts?

idk went in drain pan

Oh I see that it could not be measured. Was it between the high and low BEFORE it got drained and was it between high and low marks AFTER new fluid?

no clue im tryna to find some vid showing the level right now,..

Wow. Ok so I dont have that much experience with oil changes but if you don't know the previous level and the amount before draining than I would do more research like you are now. Next time MAKE SURE to measure it before draining and after.
