P0300 misfire

Hey everyone,

I have a 2016.5 Mazda CX5 2.5L skyactive with 275,000km, it’s in perfect condition and have kept up with all the maintenance the engine hasn’t ever been opened up either.

After not driving it for 3 days I started it up and ran rough and threw a P0300 misfire code but after letting it idle for 2 minutes it cleared up and hasn’t come back after around 10 start ups and the code never came back.

I viewed the live data and the only thing that looks abnormal is the MAF sensor and short/long term fuel trim. After a 15 drive at idle the MAF is 1.42 g/s. When raising the rpm to 1500 the graph does spike up quickly to 6.56 g/s then drop quickly to 1.08 g/s then goes up to 4.34 g/s and stays 4.34 g/s as long as I hold it at 1500rpm.

The short term fuel trim is 3.9% and long term fuel trim is 12.5%.

Does anyone know would could be going on? Is the MAF sensor broken? And could it be causing the fuel trims readings and misfire?

Thanks everyone!!

From what I know the fuel filter is the original though and I believe are in the tank.

That type of fuel filter can still clog up. You might want to verify your fuel pressure is OK.

How old are your air and fuel filters? Is fuel pressure OK? Spark plugs?

You could also try cleaning the MAF sensor and throttle body.

Hey thanks for the reply.

I actually watched that video and cleaned the MAF sensor 2 months ago along with the throttle body. Air filters are good and I changed the spark plugs 5,000km ago after running injector cleaner which did seem to improve the fuel economy. From what I know the fuel filter is the original though and I believe are in the tank.
