Hello I have a 2009 pontiac g5 base model. problem that I'm having is the battery light is coming and the volt to my battery when the light is on is 13.6 volt when the light is off it is normal around 14.4 volt I put a new alternator and battery in it but that did not work. tracing the wire from the alternator it go to the starter then from the starter it go to the engine fuse box where it go to the battery in the trunk. I clean the wire connectors on the starter, the engine fuse where it go to the at the battery on both positive and negative where i can find them. I been googling the problem i people keep saying check the ground wires but the only one I'm finding the main one from the battery to the main frame then in the engine from the frame to the engine block clean all of that still nothing I'm at a loss any help would be great thank you

Make sure all connections are clean and tight. Make sure there is no damage to any of the wires. a wire that is starting to sperate or has some installation missing can cause issues as well. Don't forget to check the body ground as well not just the battery and alternator.Example 3 months ago I had a car that had a battery that was 2 months ago and car would have trouble turning over especially in the mornings. When I looked at terminals and all grounds everything looked cleaned and tight. When I looked closer the negative battery terminal was starting to bronze. I changed that terminal and that fixed the problem.  Now I'm not saying that is your problem, just look closer at everything. Use a multi meter and check you voltages. Also check for a parasitic draw.
