Hesitating scion

Scotty i have a 2006 scion tc 150k miles used engine from the junkyard. Was wondering if i can still drive it if it hesitates especially going uphill. I’ve had the throttle body cleaned, spark plugs replaced (twice), transmission tuned with the fluid changed, recently passed smog after getting another cat. Will it still get me around another 50k miles? Help

It might be this issue. I found this on a Club Scion page:

The computer (ECU) uses the electric throttle plate motor as the throttle position sensor. The reason they go bad in the tC is because deposits build up on the throttle plate increasing the resistance of the plate's movement, burns out the electric motor over time. Solution? Keep the plate clean, along with the pivot points. Your only choice is to replace the entire throttle body.

Before you throw parts at it, borrow a Blue Driver and get it scanned for codes, and take a look at the enhanced diagnostics/mode 6 and live data.

Good luck

Try changing your fuel filter (if equipped) & pressure testing your fuel pump too -

Clean the MAF sensor and replace the air filter.
