I have an Automatic 93 Dodge Shadow, still making this old junk work, when ever i try to go in reverse or in to third gear when the car its cold, it wont do it or will make some squikylike sound (when its on R), but if i go for a ride for 5-10 minutes the shift will go in just fine, i saw the transmision fluid and needed some i added it but im still having this problem, what do you recommend me to do so i can use it till the wheels drop off
Hello,
When you have time have a look at the colour of the gearbox oil on the dipstick,
If it nice and pink that's ok, if it dark brown that's a problem,
Make sure its at the max level,
If you feel brave you could try and change the oil and filter in the gearbox,
BUT WARNING
You could end up with no drive, or increased slippage if you try this option.
Hope this Helps
All the Best.
