When you refer to certain car makers not lasting more than 100K miles, are you referring to city miles or highway miles? For example, if a Kia/Hyundai SUV has 100K miles with 80% of those highway miles, should I expect the same issue as one with 100K city miles?

It is mixed. 100k strict highway miles is liked compared to 30k-40k city miles of wear.

Generally 100,000 mi of pure highway driving is equivalent to about 20,000 of city stop and go driving
