Hi Scotty,
I have a honda Civic 8th Gen

I have changed the coolant and run fresh coolant 3 times now but after 2-3 days the coolant becomes brown, muddy and rusted

I also loose coolant after every 5-10 miles drive about 300 ml but the car runs fine with no heat up issues at all

I get good fuel mileage about 10-11 kms per litre

can you guide me what is the reason for this?

Have you considered changing the radiator?

someone at some time may have run the engine on straight water. the reason your coolant turns brown is because the engine is full of rust and dirt and the coolant is picking that up.

You need to flush the engine and radiator until the discharge runs clear. Go to You Tube to see how to do that.

Have your radiator pressure tested to find out if it is leaking.

If it is aluminum, it has to be replaced. The older copper ones could be soldered. Progress huh?

are you sure it's rust? What does your oil look like?
