Honda Civic diesel quality issues in Germany

Hy Scotty. I bought myself two years ago a new honda civic 2018 with manual transmission. I know you're not into diesels but maybe you could gave me some advice if I should keep it or not and here's why I say that. The engine seems strongly built but the rest of the car is that I have a problem with. The hood it's shaking at a little over 140 kmh. It's stops shaking at over 200 kmh of course. Took it to the dealership and they ve admit it that the hood it's to thin but they didn't do anything about it. I think that is dangerous. I live in Germany and it's mostly no speed limit on the highways. Second regarding the poor quality is that the paint started to chip at the lower end of the left fender near the wheel. Now I understand that this is possible due to the roads but let me tell you that my car has done a little over 20.000 and 90 percent only on the highways. The rest of the time it's in the garage. I am pretty sure that is due to the poor quality because there are 2 paint chips 10 cm apart from one another. I am being really disappointed. I also understand the cheapness, it's a civic but it's too much. I have a 4 door so that's assembled in turkey. At least the motor came from Japan. What do you think. Should I switch for a corolla? I do not want necessarily a diesel, i bought this one because the gasoline one from honda it's screwed up(2018). Thanks and stay healthy. We need men with your knowledge.

I dont know why people buy desiel for city driving and short trips

I would go petrol if this what you use the car for .. desiel engine are used for towing or long trips... problem are caused on these engine on short trips and stop and start.

@klob
People buy diesel because people are not living in usa. You have the gallon we have the Liter. Prices are the same. Your answer it is not helpful. Thanks anyway

Diesel engines have a high cost of ownership broadly. If you're using it as a commuter car I would stick with petrol and switch over to the petrol Corolla.

I agree with the costs. It is true. For work I have my workhorse car. The honda is only for long trips. That is why I chose diesel in the first place. I was asking in fact about the overall quality of the car and if anyone has experienced the problems I had. Thanks anyway.

Sometimes where the car is built is more important than the model.  By the sound of it, your not happy and doesn't sound like you will ever be with this car (always be asking...should I get rid of it?).  Trade until you find something you like would be my advice.

Hy there!

Your car is made 2 years after 10th generation of Civic came out. First years are years of 'serial issues' that reveal during usage. And the shaking of hood seems to be one of them.
