Honda civic lane assist windshield replacement

Topic starter

I have a 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback EX with the Honda Sensing package which adds lane assist and collision warning with a camera behind the windshield. A rock cracked my windshield. I was told by some shops I need OEM windshield because of lane assist while some say I can use aftermarket but get the sensor recalibrated. Do I need an OEM windshield to ensure my lane assist works correctly?

Factory is always best with that. Because of the factory tint or strip at the top of the windshield have openings for the sensor and majority of the time aftermarket windshields do not have that. If it is not there it can cause a lot of funky problems and for warning lights to come on every time you drive and some will cut power and cause drive ability problems because it tricks the car into thinking your about to crash

For something like that, definitely go with OEM.
