I have a Honda Certified Used CRV 2021 SE AWD. I purchased it April 2023. The vehicle always ran smoothly. No vibrations or shudders. Even at 70 mph.
About two weeks ago I brought it to the Honda dealership for a CVT fluid change. Not a flush. Just the normal change.
After the service I started feeling a vibration or shudder in the seat and steering wheel. This gets more pronounced at around 45 to 50 mph. Not severe but annoying. Again before the service no issues.
I checked the tire pressure and it’s fine. I purchased new tires a month after I purchased the vehicle. Because the tires when I purchased it were garbage. And I haven’t hit any potholes or anything. The vehicle has around 44200 miles on it. I purchased it at around 40000 miles. I’m retired so I don’t drive many miles anymore.
I will call the Service Manager tomorrow.
Any one have any ideas. I read one reason that can cause this. Is refilling the CVT with not enough fluid.
Yeah so the fact that you noticed this after the CVT fluid change sure sounds suspicious.
However, with AWD if you take the recent fluid change out of the equation a vibration at mid speed sounds more like a U-joint problem

You have to remember that the only thing "Certified" really means is you're paying more for the vehicle. We've seen reports of some pretty shoddy vehicles (even flood cars) being sold as "Certified".

Maybe using the wrong fluid could cause this as well. It's possible the dealer is using aftermarket fluid rather than OEM in order to save money.
Just an update. I have to bring the vehicle back to the dealer tomorrow .
Today I stopped in a local repair shop.. They are very popular in my area and people have good things to say about them.
The owner took it for a test drive with me. I felt the vibration as he was driving. He said it appears to be a slight shudder from the CVT. He said it only occurs when his foot is on the gas. When he takes his foot off and stops feeding it gas is when the shudder stops.
He does think it’s something with the CVT. Especially since it only started happening after the dealer changed the fluid.
