Hello scotty or everyone, not sure how this works. My dad has Honda Fit 2008, 87k miles, automatic. It started having engine ticking ( I would say it coming from top of engine) after oil change, its not there when car is cold but when warms up it can be heard on idle. Before we got the car it was sitting for year and half, because it was in car accident by previous owner and needs new rear windshield. It was low on oil, but my dad delayed oil change eventually the maintenance light came on and oil level said 30%. So that when we took it for oil change.
I researched it on internet and closest resolution I found is that after changing oil lifters get drained off oil and that what causes tick. Also, something about if previous owner used conventional oil and we put synthetic that would cause tick. But at this point I went so deep into my research that I don't know what it could be anymore.
So my questions here are could it lead to serious problems as years go on? Should I take it to mechanic for check it up( nothing wrong with it except that engine tick that drives me crazy)?
You might need valve adjustment only. I would take to an honest mechanic to check it.
Got it thank you.
