Should I worry about driving in hot weather

Hi.  I have a 2014 Honda Civic Lx with 230,000 miles.  The weather is changing rapidly from 70s from early this week to mid to upper 90s by Friday of this week.  Should I be concerned about driving a long distance trip in these changing weather conditions?  I will have the oil changed today and car briefly looked over at the dealership.  I have read articles about driving high mileage cars and concerns about overheating in high temperatures.  There have been no problems so far this year.  Any help is appreciated.

The temperature change is not the issue as much as the highest temp, and the greatest load on the engine and HVAC.  I would check the owners manual for the recommended interval for coolant service and make sure it’s up to date.  Otherwise I wouldn’t worry.  You have a good car that is engineered to handle much higher temps than that.

My next coolant service is at 240,000 miles.

Just make sure you pay attention to the temperature gauge in your dash.

Make sure the fans work well. Top off your coolant reservoir. Match tire inflation to door sticker.

Hose off the radiator to get all the dirt and bugs out, so air can flow properly.

Be careful with the dealership.  Check the oil yourself when they're done.  Watch out for unnecessary work they say you need.

They do not recommend unnecessary work at least in the past.  I do not have a temperature gage on my dash.  I only see a symbol when the car is cold and then it is removed when the car is at normal temperature.

They will.

I have been going there for 5 years and I only was sold one service or two extra services. The dealership does good work.

If you sneak into the employees break room (where you're not supposed to be) you'll see a sign over the door that reads -

"It is morally wrong to allow a sucker to keep their money."

Just be cautious, please.
