I've got a 2006 Tacoma with 225,000 miles. I watch all your videos and baby it. I love the truck however I want to sell it before it becomes a headache. How long can I expect it to go generally before it starts having major issues?
any known issues currently? is the body rusted out? if not, change all the fluids religiously and stay up on other maintenance (belts, sparkplugs, tires, coolant change, etc, and it should last about as long as you want it to.
No known issues currently. Even Toyotas have got some kind of a lifespan though.
Scotty has reported well-maintained Toyota models that do not have intrinsic problems (like some with oil burning issues) lasting 400K-500K miles. However it is not possible to predict the lifespan of one specific vehicle.
It will start having major issues when you stop maintaining it.
I sold my 98 4runner with 225k, and I didn't sell it because I was worried it wouldn't last much longer, I sold it because I am getting older and needing something that was a better ride, and could tow more. 4runners, like tacomas are known for going 4-500k miles with good maintenance.
