Scotty, can you please, if you dare, make a video on how to jack up a modern car on the crossmember or whatever jargon terms (designating an area) for safely doing this. The modern car manuals state the safe points, there are 4, but many of your videos, and others on YouTube show jacking up underneath in the middle area between the mounted tires, can you elaborate on this please. Idealism would be as the garages have with industrial lifts jacking up on specific 4 points, I think these been around for the past 20 years, I remember when the lifts were more like a forklift long flat bars.
Thanks.
Okay well that depends on the design of your car. Most cars today have jack points on the side where there's two little notches on each side in the front and then in the back and that's where you put a jack. But any solid metal part can be used to jack up the car. If you see where there are giant bolts such as where control arms bolt to the frame of the car you can jack up cars there that's a strong point too. Now some really fancy cars have actual round jack points with rubber and metal and you jack them up there you got to really check for your model if you have an odd car
@scottykilmer Ok, thanks got it!.
One one of my cars that has a full cover underneath I just jack one side at a time and put 6x6 under each wheel.
