Hi everyone, I just leased a Hyundai Kona 2021 Urban Trend 1.6Turbo AWD.
It's an awesome little compact SUV drives extremely good. Is there anything i should be looking out for? ie: Problems in the long run.
Extremely peppy engine, good on gas, good interior. I want to keep it when the lease runs out cause i really like it.
Any known unforeseen problems with this model?
No worries, but thank you for your answer.
omg {blackemo}:laughtertotears: muahahahahaha
That 1.6L Turbo I4 came with a dual-clutch transmission. The Kona came out for 2018 model year, so hard to forecast all the issues it could have; however, given Hyundai Motor Group’s track record, it was a good idea you leased it. Be sure to diligently follow all the maintenance and service items (and on time) for that vehicle by the Hyundai dealer, or they can potentially deny a future warranty claim and try to make you pay out of pocket (even on a lease) - I’ve seen that happen numerous times with friends, family, co-workers. Hyundai/Kia dealer service can be poor (just from what I hear anecdotally), but hopefully you have a better experience.
In the meantime, you can peruse here to see what issues owners of previous model years have encountered (not comprehensive) as well as TSBs and recalls issues for those years (hopefully, yours has them all incorporated already):

After the lease is up, I would return the vehicle back to Hyundai. Owning a dual-clutch transmission is not a good idea from a longevity standpoint.
It's a Hyundai, so you can look forward to engine and transmission replacements in the SHORT term.
The 2021 Kona is also known for ... that's right ... SPONTANEOUS ENGINE COMBUSTION!

You leased it so don’t worry about anything happens during that time.
When you say just leased. do you mean last Wednesday? Or have you had the car for a couple of months to actually figure out what its like day to day?
February 2021
5 year lease.
