Hello scotty,
My Hyundai sonata 2004 v6 chokes but won't start. I thought it was my sparks and spark wires cause they were old. I replaced it, still choking and not starting. I have 12v battery working good which means alternator is good. Not starter since it's choking. I have power in my wire harness going to fuel injectors, fuel injectors showing 16 ohms which is great. When I start my ignition, my drive belt moves but not my timing belt. My timing belt looks worn but haven't remove all parts to identify if it's 100% that's the timing belt. Additionally, my drive belt was chirping for few years. Is the timing belt the issue? Will timing belt cause an mechanical issue? Please advise.
I honestly do not know how to solve that I don't know much about that but I do know that I would get rid of it as soon as possible you will see lot's of problems. Definetly do not upgrade to a newer Sonata.
If the timing belt fails, the car won’t start.
Start by watching Scotty’s video on how to fix a car that cranks but won’t start.
Also, change your fuel filter & pressure test the fuel pump.
