I am now looking at a 2013 honda accord 2dr 4cyl coupe. it has 100,000 miles on it and they want $10,600 for it. Would it be a good first car and how many miles can I get out of it?
Any help would be great
I think the price is a bit high. Yes it would be a good first car, if you don't mind smaller I'd also consider the Honda Civic. You could get 200k, 300k, 400k... it all depends on if the previous driver did his maintenance properly and if you will do the same. Also how the car was driven obviously.
Now you should take every opinion with a grain of salt just like this one, but people are likely to crash their first car, that doesn't mean a big crash but the possibility of a few dents here and there is to consider. That's when we all learn! I personally wouldn't pay that much for a first car. But if you have the money and you want one go get it, accords are great cars.
What if the civic has a 1.5 L turbo engine?
Get the one with 2.0 L. But that's the latest generation(2016-today), the previous generation (2012-2015) has the 1.8L.
You’d want to have it thoroughly inspected by a professional mechanic, before you buy it.
If the engine is burning oil or if the transmission isn’t shifting smoothly, just walk away.
Price depends on location, so bargain hard.
Good luck!
What about a 2016 ex-t civic with a 1.5 L turbo engine
Change your oil regularly (3000-5000miles) & use the new GF-6B oil. If you live in a cold climate, let the engine warm up fully before you start driving. That generation had oil dilution issues, hence the above advice, but again, you want it checked out by a mechanic, before purchase.
nah id skip the 1.5L civic get the accord much better k24 engine
i paid 7500 CAD for my 2010 accord with 95k km. so 6000 USD with 60k miles
no accident all service records new winter tires
shop around, if that ends up the cheapest in ur area make sure u get a good bumper to bumper inspection
The Accord is a good bet make sure to have a mechanic check it out and definitely haggle.
As for the Civic, avoid the 1.5 engine and stick to the 2.0 engine found in the EX and lower trims.
