I bought a 2007 Honda Odyssey with 130k miles
Looks clean drives great
But the vin on the scanner says it's a 2005 Honda Odyssey
What the vins on dash, doors and trunk say is that it's a 2007 Honda Odyssey
Unsure what to do. Should I just leave it all alone and go about my life. Highly doubt I could get a refund and I spent rest money had on it, got from a private seller from cragsilist.
Title matches vins on doors hood dash, just not on the computer. Haven't checked firewall but assuming it's not the same either.
I don't have time to deal with police as I have to work everyday.
someone must have swapped the ECM at some point.
It's a good idea to do these sort of checks before you purchase, but if it runs and has no trouble codes then I wouldn't worry about it too much. The thing you need to worry about with Odyssey's is the transmission.
The vin on firewall is messed up can't read it and also the Vins on the fenders are different it shows a 2005 odyssey
But the vins on the title, dash, hood, hatch, and the vin on side of door are all matching.
frankenstein van. Maybe it was badly wrecked
Should I be worried I looked up vin and says it's a different color than what it actually is
It may have been repainted some time over the last 17 years.
it's been through a chop shop so it's never going to be a great car (not that it was to begin with). I'd flip it.

It's a 2007 year model. The VIN reported through the OB2 port is the VIN as stored in the PCM, which can be changed via software. The VIN numbers on the dash, door pillars etc are all the same and that's the number that you go by - it's the 'correct' VIN for your car.
