Should I drop trans pan replace filter

Topic starter

I'm going to replace the transmission fluid on my 2016 Chevy Colorado with 3.6L 6speed automatic. 87000miles.

Should I, or should I not, bother with dropping the pan and replacing the filter?

I want to replace the filter, but recently been advised that a transmission filter really doesn't need replacing.

Thanks your your advice.

yes clean the pan and put in a fresh filter. They're so cheap it would be silly not to.

Yes, change the filter. That filter captures debris suspended in the transmission fluid. Changing it will help prolong the life of your transmission.
