I have a 2011 Ford Expedition with 266K miles. Scotty posted a video about using an additive and he manually unscrewed a small filter on top of the engine, cleaned it, then replaced it after he used the additive. For the life of me I can’t find that video. Thanks John in CONNECTICUT

Scotty has talked positively about very few additives. (Most of those products are just useless snake oil.) From your description he was probably talking about ATS Carbon Clean. That's not an additive you leave in the oil though, you use it to clean the gunk out of the engine and then drain it out.

and where did the additive go?
The only filters under the hood are the air filter and it's not that small. Was it an oil cap?
