I'm looking for a used Toyota or Honda with around 100,000 miles. I'm going to use my OBD2 scanner when I check them out. I already know about checking for DTCs and whether they have been reset. I'd like to know what live data parameters a pro would consider to be the most important in determining engine health. I'm familiar with ST and LT fuel trim. What others are useful and what can they tell you?
well it takes years to analyze those things correctly but you'd want to look at the fuel trims and you don't want them to be very high at all maybe three or four or five percent plus or minus Max. And you'd want to look at any odd data such as math sensor at idle where the grants per second is much much higher than the leader of the engine where a 2 l engine should be about 2 g per second at idle
