I have a 2017 Ford Escape with 1.5 Eco boost engine with 68000 miles. I was advised some time ago by the dealer to let them perform a cleaning to keep the engine running with full power and help insure the life of the spark plugs. I declined because I thought it was too expensive. I have read more than once that Ford has not approved of any method for cleaning intake valves. Do you know if this is true or another non truth cycling the internet? I thought of you as the person who would know. thanks Scotty. Love the videos..
Indeed Ford has not authorized any option for cleaning the intake valves. That is 100% true and they will void your warranty if you do clean them.
are these GDI engines?
Yes sir they are. Crazy that they have no plan in place, huh?
I guess they make more money selling Ford guys replacement cars, then they do selling intake cleanses. We'll see how that strategy works out for them long term.
I hope it bites them in the rear personally. It's ridiculous not to have a plan in place for what is basically inevitable.
