I am about to purchase a 2009 scion with 167,000 miles on it for $4700 and wanted to know if you think I’m over paying. The person I’m purchasing from bought it to resell and has only had it 2 weeks but claims the other owner maintained it well, changed oil every 3000 miles, etc. all the fluids looked good, the test drive seemed good, most problems seemed cosmetic but I won’t know until down the road. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks so much! 🙂
I think that’s a little pricey if we’re talking about a car in general with that mileage. You’re paying pretty much 5 grand after taxes for a vehicle that is at the end of its life span usually. I heard those are good cars though. If you know it has been taken care of I’d buy it and try to go down 200.

I bought my '06 Sienna with 184k miles on it for $4500. I think that's a fair price for a Scion. Have a mechanic check it out before you buy it. And don't buy it if the title isn't clean.

Have the car checked by an honest mechanic before making any decisions. Do not trust anyone especially the sellers like this.

Walk, … Don’t waste your time even thinking about it. Flippers are not where you buy cars from.

Yeah, don't buy it, it's way to expensive, I don't care what the flipper says. Is the title in his name or is he jumping title? If it's in the previous owners name, that's illegal. Pass it way to much and mystery history.

Ok, again as yaser....said have it checked out but it's not a good price. Make sure his name is on title and no brands. Salvage, reconstruct, flood etc.i don't trust slippers as u have no recourse.

I wouldn't trust someone that's selling the car after only having it such a short time. He can claim anything he wants, no way to verify any of it....Walk away, you worked hard for you money...save yourself a lot of grief and your $$.
