Hey Scotty, I have a 2013 Mazda 3 with a 6-speed manual transmission and 180,000 miles. I recently bought this car when it had 178,000 miles. Unfortunately the car did not come with any service or maintenance records. I am planning on taking a road trip this summer and want to make sure maintenance is up to schedule by then. I saw your video on transmission oil change being not recommended on high mileage cars that haven't kept up with maintenance. Does this apply to a manual transmission like mine as well? Would you advise against a road trip from New York to California in such a vehicle? Thanks.

No.

Have an honest mechancic inspect the car first.
Manual transmissions are completely different from automatics. ALL manual transmissions can only benefit from an oil change. Same with differentials and transfer cases. Make sure to use the correct grade and weight oil.
