Back on my 92 F150 again. When I was putting it back together I noticed the hose between the air intake and the evaporator canister was all but falling apart. Went by NAPA and they called it the “Evap hose”, and they don’t sell it. They recommend I go to the dealer and said it was critical I get the correct hose, otherwise it might start flaking from the inside and really mess stuff up.
I figured I could find it online somewhere, but all I can come up with is fuel hose. Does anyone know if fuel hose is the same as Evap hose? Just trying to avoid a trip to the dealership. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Get the correct hose. The EVAP hose needs to withstand a vacuum. The fuel hose doesn't. Check Rockauto, or talk to you dealer to find the correct one. It may only cost $10-20
Good point, hadn't considered that!

I had a similar problem a few months ago when I was replacing rotted vacuum lines in my '79 Catalina. See if you can find rib-reinforced fuel hose, I couldn't find EVAP hose either, so I improvised with a length of ribbed fuel hose that was at an O'Reilly Auto Parts. It was tough to get over the barb on the canister without breaking the 42 year old plastic because of the reinforcement, but once I got it on, that source of vacuum leakage is all but gone.
It may not be the same but hose that can stand up to gasoline should have no problem with vapors.
