I wouldn't buy one of these at ANY price.  Not worth the coming headaches and expenses.

Worth it?  The economic case for electric vehicles is that they are energy efficient.  But with that model, you will lose more to depreciation over its lifespan than you save in fuel costs by an order of magnitude.  Probably two.  Also, judging by the other electric cars on the market, reliability, repair costs, and resale will be terrible.

Objectively, no, it isn’t worth it.  Whether it is subjectively, only you know.

If you want it, get it.

Asking if a car that is coming out in 2022 is worth buying is like asking who you should bet on for the 2022 World Series. Nobody knows.

go for it!

blow 131 grand on a car!

it's just a car!

All the elctric cars have horrible resale value. If you add Porsche brand to the equation, the resale value goes down like a stone.

Here is another perspective on your question;  If I have the choice between spending $131,400 on a Porsche or a house, I'll take the house every time because I know it will do nothing but appreciate in value.  The Porsche will NOT.

I thought this question was a joke.

For the average consumer, I’d say no, it’s not worth it.

For someone with disposable money, absolutely worth it. That car is a sweet vehicle. I went in a ride along in one, and I think they did a good job of turning a VW platform into a car with Porsche aesthetics. And for someone with disposable money, they can afford to maintain and/or dump the car at a loss.

IMHO, if you want a “real” porsche, get a two seater (or 2+2), rear wheel drive. That’s what a porsche signifies to me.

The SUV and the four doors have porsche styling, but aren’t really porsche, imho.

it's not worth it for me

It’s fairly new and no one knows how they will hold up, so I advise against buying it.  Also, you will be a guinea pig, so be prepared for that.  If you really like the vehicle, I recommend to lease it and return before the warranty expires.  With EVs as time marches on they will get better;  just look at cellular phones over the last 20+ years.  So, better to lease it then return it.

It is like Kazien said.  When Porsche started making alternative models, people knew that the 914,916, 924, 944 and 928 were just not Porsches at all.  Same with the cars they are making now.  They are more like Nissans with a Porsche badge.

First of all....DO NOT BUY PORCHE cause they own by Volkswagen and Volkswagen quality is garbage (falls apart in 2 or more years)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bex9GEUfitA this vid explains part of it and remember that porches last about 100k miles

If you planning on spend that kind of money... look at Lexus LC 500h

Porsches like the Cayman and 911 have high resale value but the rest of their lineup, not so much. If you really want one, lease it or wait for it to drop in value as you can get them cheaper that way as EVs have bad resale value. I wouldn't buy one brand new.

I wish I had that kind of money to be able to afford such a high end car........Maybe when I win the lottery.

I have to agree with the comments here suggesting that you lease the car and then return it before it starts having problems and needing repairs. Also, just take a look at used Tesla prices or even higher milage hybrids and they just have a big price drop and I don't think it would be any different for this particular car. So yeah I don't think it's worth that kind of money.
