Jaguar life span

Hey scotty I got a question for ya, in most cases you have gone over the disastrous brand that is jaguar and its unreliability, especially with newer ones today. I'm aware that the older models were about the same like the X type. However, the car in question today is the S type. In your video you made an exception for it because of its conjunction with Ford with its engine and transmission. Mine is around 60k miles and is a 01. I wanted to know just how many miles can one put in this vehicle before its time to move on, assuming I'm always on top of maintenance. What is usually the first to go that causes problems when It comes to breaking down. I do use it as a daily driver so I'm going to be doing maintenance routines alot sooner to avoid problems. Thanks!

You are dice rolling over 100k miles or 10 years.

Electricals are the first things to go. Then the drivetrains. I have Jags in the shop all the time, even new ones. Beautiful designs on some, but terrible, low quality materials used in the build process means constant headaches and costly repair bills. I can understand the appeal, but with my experience working on them there's no way I'd own one.

I'm financing this one for one year till around next July. Assuming it holds till then would you recommend trading it in for something else?

Also thanks for your reply sir!

You're welcome! It's what we are here for 🙂 . And I would trade it for sure. Getting too close to the 100k mark for me.
