Hey Scotty, now I drive a Jeep Patriot 2012 with 164 clicks on it,now I’ve had my battery check and my alternator and both have been reported to be in good shape,now I had them checked because my car wouldn’t start and it’s happen about 4 times now and I tried boosting it but that didn’t work until a buddy of mine at work pulled my handbrake and it started I drive an automatic and he told me there might be something wrong with my sensor but I just wanted to make sure and be more informed so could you pls help me out with this?
Well who knows I'm pulling a handbrake at anything to do with it but if it did have something to do with you have some kind of an electrical short. Could be a problem in the transmission range sensor which only let you start it in park and neutral and if that system gets shorted out maybe pulling on the brake jostle that system and made it work again I do often see those transmission range sensors go bad on Jeeps
I wanted to know how often should I change my transmission oil and how long do these transmissions usually last?
