Hi, I have a 1970 GMC k15 Pickup with a 4 inch lift and 35 in tires. I have rebuilt everything on it and everything works except for the steering. I replaced all of the seals and made sure that the adjustments were correct. when driving down the road it has no play and returns to center but to go straight the steering wheel is 45 degrees or more off of center in the direction of the previous turn all of the joints in the steering are brand new and everything is tight. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well you start raising vehicles you mess with the geometry of the vehicle I would say go to a very good front and alignment shop that understands Ray's trucks and see what they say you may have to put different parts in to change the angles because it may not be able to be adjusted correctly the way it's set up now without changing parts that have different angles on them

Remove the steering wheel (puller usually required) re-index it to the correct position and re-install it.

Same thing happened when I put a 4" lift kit on my '78. Had it aligned after the install and had to re-index the steering wheel.
