Hi scotty I'm up to buy a new car but I am afraid the electric will take over and I would lose my new car value after couple of years, so I decided to buy used one, I found a Kia Sorento 2016 V6 3.3 with 65,000km on it for a decent price. and according to the seller they said it was occasionally driven for dropping kids to school and small stuff. 1. Should I buy a kia since its used price is way less than a used Toyota? 2. If I was to buy it, what should I check on in this model?
We are currently not recommending any Hyundai Motor Group products. If you have been following Scotty for any length of time, then you already know he is not a fan of them either and has been warning people of them. If there was a doubt, see below: also the 10 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty only applies to the original owner.

Given the drawbacks and limitations of electric cars and the fact they have to be forced on people rather than being freely chosen you may well find that gasoline-powered cars will increase in value when they become less available, being more desirable.
In any event, Hyundai and Kia are poor choices. They have had severe quality problems with engines self-destructing and spontaneous fires. There is a reason that used ones sell for so much less than Toyotas and Hondas.
