KIRKLAND oil on my Lexus

Hey everybody.

I have a 2011 Lexus RX350, 150K miles. I'm wondering if Kirkland oil is actually good and worth using on my car.

What's your take and thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance.

I have used synthetic Super Tech on my 1998 Chevrolet Asrovan since 100,000 when i purchased it. Ran great to 270,000 was still running fine when I sold it and no oil consumption only typical small leaks from the motor. I use it also in my 2008 Avalanche.  Looks like both oils are made by same manufacturer.

As long as it meets the API specs required by your Lexus you'll be fine.

It's good enough for me. It meets the specification that my owner's manual recommends.

I also know that it's a major brand of oil (possibly Mobil 1) , just with a different label on the bottle.

I'm pretty sure that like WalMart's SuperTech, Kirkland motor oil is made by Warren Oil. Their products have a good reputation.

I just happen to have a case of it with me so I checked, and you're right. Made in USA by Warren.

Warren makes a lot of the private-label oil products that you see around. I've used SuperTech oils made by Warren for ages with no problem and I run my vehicles to very high mileage.

they claim that they are the largest independent lubricant manufacturer in the United States.

Yep. It’s similar to other store brands. I would trust it for 5000 miles, maybe not 10,000. But it is fine oil

If you want to test it out, you could always use the correct Kirkland oil according to your engine's specs and just check every once in a while to see if the level is dropping or if the oil is turning darker quickly. That should give you an idea about the quality
