ok
2012 GMC Acadia 3.6L motor 209k miles
been a good car if not for all the suspension items and motor mounts I’ve had to replace over the years.
But lately it has a problem starting. When cold the start rotation rpm sounds strong. But when hot or some what warm and you start (like after run in to the store or bank) starting is labored it slow to rotate. Always starts just really slow rotation and sounds like it doesn’t like it (of course) if you do multiple stops in a row seems to get a little harder each time. If allowed a little time (like 20-30 min) and start it is back to normal behavior
replaced the starter already. Battery is new and different batteries with same results
Checked the cables to the starter and ground of engine block and all fine Later when that didn’t help much added a heat blanket to the starter to verify it wasn’t getting heat soaked some how and being effected (since one of the cats run near it in front)
Happens regardless of outside temp although maybe recovers quicker in cold and acts normal in less time in the cold
considering one of the accessories dragging the motor down but not having issues with any particular item (power steering alternator ac pump works) and ac is off
so sorta confused.
Odd stuff. I would think battery/alternator drain, except the cold start is good.
Maybe stop by an Autozone and have them test the battery/alternator/codes.
See if they come up with something.
