Land Rover Defender 90 dim dash lights, no power anywhere

Hello and thank you for all the great information and videos!

My 1995 D90 is OBD 1.  Intermittently, it will not crank or start and shows dim dash lights.   I do not hear the fuel pump running (or the radio) with the switch on in any position.     Once in a while (like after towing it home), it will crank and start.       I replaced the starter 10 months ago.  The battery is good and has a good charge.     I suspected the electrical part of the ignition switch as the car has some miles on it and am waiting on that part.     But....the headlights don't work either.  And they do not need the ignition switch on in any position in order to come on.   If not the ignition switch, then it seems like it is a compromised connection in the + or - battery cable.    Later, I will use the power probe to see if there is current to the starter, etc.   The clock works with key off but not on.    What do you think?

typical Land Rover problems with electronics yeah it could be ignition switch you can have to chase all the wiring and see where you're losing power you're obviously losing it somewhere and those things are wiring nightmares as they age for my experience
