Hi!
I'm looking to buy a used IS250. I heard that some owners experience vvti rattling on the intake cam(s) at startup. How serious is the problem? Is there anything i can do to fix the rattle? I've heard that the rattle is caused by a malfunction of the locking pin inside the vvti gear due to stickyness(i think!). I wonder if I can use an engine flush to unstuck the locking pin?
P.S: I have a 2003 toyota rav4 with 400k+ km for 2 years and i havent had to put a single dime in it besides oil changes ! Thank you Scotty for making me buy a Toyota!

- Yeah you can try an engine flush but if you don't already own it, you're thinking about buying it. Heck, let the other guy tried if the noise goes away by it. If not I wouldn't buy it. Too many problems can exist the cause. VVTI rattling that I wouldn't buy one that rattles you don't own it yet why I get into a problem?
