Scotty I love your channel, and your a great honest man. I have a 2007 Lincoln MKZ automatic with 172,000 miles. I already know I dont get the best gas mileage but seems like its getting way worse. Anything I can do change that. Thanx 🤘
@darren83
yes you can clean your injectors, clean your maf sensor your map sensor and clean your oxygen sensors. replace your fuel pump filter. if you have a weak alternator that can mess up with the communication of your sensors. make sure your spark plugs are cleane, not broken, make sure you have correct gap size, remember to drive slow and safe not fast. besides all this, i highly reccomend replacing your belt, your belt drives your water pump and if its loose, it can be read as a change of temperature within the engine to use more gas possibly, replace your cabin filter, you can NOT have a clogged cabin filter, it may look 50% okay, but trust me, thats probably clogged, blow air and put your hand behind it, youll know it., a weak fuel pump sometimes messes up with air/fuel ratio, you could replace just the little pump buy one from ebay for like 30$ that has alot of sales like more than 1,000 sales to be a good one, always check your rating and reviews before purchasing

if you can check your alternator to make sure its working 100% nothing else, this can interfere with electricity performance, replace your gas cap right away before you have gas pressure problem. always try to use original oem from the dealer if not make sure you check the reviews and sell count from any online website, we never reccomend aftermarket because they are known to have issue, but hey, if you going after market and you dont have to spend more than 20$ give it a try but check feedback they must have positive feedback.... sometimes parts become the problem you wont want an aftermarket part with bad reviews.
Anything that makes the engine work harder to send power to the wheels will make gas mileage suffer. On top of what Darren said make sure all your fluids are changed regularly, as that can reduce friction in the drivetrain. Also, don't keep a ton of weight in your car and try to drive easy and try to stay consistent with your speed. Stopping and accelerating again is not good for fuel efficiency. Of course if you live in the city that will be pretty hard 🙂
