Hey Scotty, love your channel. I discovered it about two months ago and have gained a lot of knowledge binge watching. Here's the dilemma. I am in the market for a used car that I'm going to pay cash for and I know that for what I want it's going to be 10 years or older. I'm wanting luxury and long term reliability. All things being equal i.e. having a mechanic check it out which I will do myself. (I'm not a great mechanic but I am capable and learned a lot from you.) So I'd like some opinions. I know the Town Car's reputation for reliability and I know you are huge on Toyota's but something you said about the Lexus being expensive to fix in terms of electrical issues. Would I have the same problem with a Town Car with all the bells and whistles. During my research I've found a few other cars that piqued my interest. One being the Lincoln Mkz or MKs. Also, no particular model Acura. I figure at this point anything is better than the 2002 VW Jetta I've been driving for the last four years. I thought VW was supposed to be reliable but you're right they're crap. I've spent more time laying underneath that car than I've spend laying in my bed. Thanks for your insights.

Any of those pants or body Fords like Town cars crown vics Mercury Grand Marquis can be great cars if they're taken care of those VHS can last an awful long time. I am not an MKZ fan

@scottykilmer
After driving the MKz, not a fan either. I found an '04 Town Car, one owner, 59,000 miles, everything checked out. Thanks for your insight. Without your channel I would have ended up buying a BMW or Mercedes. Rock on!

Recommend: Lincoln TC. But good examples are getting rarer than peaches on a pine tree.

@retoldpro
They are certainly rare, but they are out there. I found an 04, one owner, clean title, 59,000 miles for $4,500. I had to go from IL to FL to get it but worth all the effort. Thanks for your input.

I'm glad you found what you wanted, sounds like a great one ! Take of it, and it will take care of you.
