Hello,
I'm looking for a small to medium SUV with a 6 cylinder engine. There doesn't seem to be a huge selection. I've been looking at the Chevy Blazer, Jeep Cherokee, and the Nissan Murano. Between these 3, what would you suggest?
Neither.
What about a RAV4 with the V6?
None of them - especially if you plan to keep for as long as possible and with minimal issues.
You chose three of the worst.
I'd look for a Blazer with the 4.3 l engine or a jeep with the inline 4.0.
Both are good engines.
Just my opinion, which is just that. As good as any.
They are indeed strong engines. But what about the rest of the vehicles, at that age?
Since you have rear wheel drive based four wheel drives on the list I would go for a 4runner. If front wheel drive is ok I'd go with an older Lexus RX. The luxury crowd forgets about them when the gadgets get old so the price drops but they are still good dependable SUVs.
Sadly, the 4Runners reputation makes buying a used one at a good price pretty hard as well. Good recommendations though.
Get the Blazer first, then the Jeep. Forget Toyota's, IMO they're too darn small!
