Hi Scotty,
Maserati Ghibli S 2016 - 49,000 miles -
Love the YouTube shows. You have inspired me to carry out all my own work on my 2016 S model Maserati Ghibli after purchasing all the tools required and researched all the Torque settings for nuts / plugs etc. I have a good acumen for all things practical and this doesn't phase me.
So, to my question: As I run through the obvious fluid changes (Brake / ZF 8HP70 Automatic Transmission / Rear Differential / Hydraulic Power Steering / Coolant ) etc (with 49,000 miles on the clock - weekend car use) - doing it ahead of the manufacturers recommended timescales (as per lots of advice), is there anything in particular that I should look for, with the exception to metal particles in the transmission sump pan filter / differential oil drain / water on top of brake fluid etc?
Additionally, I have been recommended to buy an OBDSTAR X200 / X200 Pro to both diagnose and reset service interval light, can you give this scan tool the green light or recommend one that would do the job equally as well for similar or less cost?
I live in the UK and so cannot access things that you may be able to in the US as easily.
Many thanks and I am off to watch more of your videos! Could you possibly do a Maserati Ghibli (2014-2016) sometime in a video?
Happy driving and keep doing the good stuff!
Cheers Paul from UK
Well I don't have any customers that own Maseratis so I won't be be making any videos. Now the main problem with those things are is they're not made for working on and accessing all the bolts to get the pan off to change the fluid and clean stuff. It's a pain in the butt on those things. I did work on one once and that's the last one. I'll probably ever work on it with such a pain in the ass. I don't know what it's like in England, but here in the United States Maseratis aren't exotic car. The parts cost a fortune and they hide most of their information from aftermarket mechanics like myself
Thanks for your honest reply. I get where you come from with the 'pain in the ass' comment. I will venture on and probably try and video the stuff I do, not only for future reference, but if at any time in the future a miracle happens and someone else was to ask you, then I may have a video on it and help remove the pain. {black}
