I'm looking at changing my 5 speed transmission. It's working okay but it has 233,000 miles on it and it has started whining from time to time. I'm looking online and found this company. Has anyone heard or done business with this company?

Thank you everyone!

I've never used them just realized those transmissions are very complex and personally if I were you I changed the fluid put in full synthetic gear oil and drive it till it dropped cuz it can often go years making small noises

I was going to use the Lucas oil but I'm not sure if I should use the gear oil or the one for ATF since the transmission uses ATF

DO NOT USE GEAR OIL IN THESE. It’s too thick. The M5OD’s always took ATF. I put Amsoil signature series ATF in mine (I have the M5OD-R1HD) and it’s been great. Smooth shifts. I did have a noise coming from my rear differential that wouldn’t go away, from doing several burnouts. I changed the fluid with Lucas. That didn’t stop the noise. Then I put Amsoil gear oil in and after several thousand miles, the noise is gone. I don’t know if it’s the Amsoil that did it, but I remember seeing a test done where Amsoil seemed to smooth out some wear in metals.

So yea, I would change the fluid in your transmission. What have you got to loose. Get 3 quarts. Should take 2.8 quarts. And I got the bags of Amsoil, because it’s easy to get to the fill hole with them.

And if the fluid in your transmission comes out REALLY bad. If it’s really gunky looking, you might try putting a cheap ATF in, drive it for a hundred miles or so and drain it again, then put Amsoil in.
