I have a 2021 Tesla model 3 AWD with around 22K miles. I lived in an area with rough roads and lots of railroads for a year with the car. Over the last year, I've been noticing a *very mild* vibration in the steering wheel along with a slight rumbling noise when driving around 50-55mph on smooth roads (especially newly paved roads), which then disappears around 60-65mph and above. I took it for a tire balancing and had minor adjustments done accordingly, but the issue persisted.
Aside from the rough roads, the only other thing done to my car prior to me noticing the vibration was a wheel alignment, (so not sure if it was done haphazardly and is the actual cause, to begin with).
To add to all that, a couple of months ago I drove over a curb with my right rear tire at around 5mph in the parking lot and the vibration and rumbling noise now happen at even lower speeds (40mph).
I know it could be one of several things going on here but would appreciate any insight. Also, is there any urgency in taking the car for an inspection by a mechanic?
Check your front wheel bearings. I would not normally expect bad bearings so soon but with rough roads it's possible, or it might be a manufacturing defect. I'd have it checked out sooner rather than later.
