1999 Ford Expedition EB 5.4 211,XXX

Passenger side door mirror doesn’t function and the mirror is distorted. It has the integrated signal flash one arrow. Can I at least temporarily use a non-signal mirror. I can’t find the replacement right now.

If you have a hard time finding an aftermarket mirror, try the junkyard for your make and model and year/generation.

@kaizen my problem is finding the junk yard part.

I guess I’m asking since the mirror has the signal behind the glass. Would that (wiring) effect anything since the signal will not be there?

The wiring isn't a structural component. There's a harness that needs to be disconnected, then you can swap the bad mirror with the "new" mirror. As long as it's the same style of mirror for a 1999 Expedition, it'll be fine.

@justin-shepherd yes it came off my other 99 Expedition that died. (Which the ONLY difference is it wasn’t a signal mirror. And the outer cover is currently a different color. Which I know that has nothing to do with the functionality. LOL)

Unless I’m misunderstanding what you’re asking, I suspect this would be A-OK. I’ve seen some very unusual mirror fixes that depart from orthodoxy much more than foregoing the signal on a mirror that originally had it.
