What is the best multimeter for reading impedance on wiring and electronic injectors?

I have tried 2 different meters and when you touch the 2  probes together they jump all over the place. They also on a wire want give the same reading 2 times in a row. Also the same problem on the injector solenoid.

If you actually want to measure IMPEDANCE, that's usually done with a signal generator, an oscilloscope, and a variable resistor.

I just need to get really close. Within .1 or .2 these meters are reading anything from .1 to 14.87 that is way to much difference. My old meter would read close within what I need.

The jumping around is called noise, and it's not necessarily a bad thing (unless it comes from the meter itself!).  It indicates a sensitive meter. I don't understand why repeatable results are a bad thing.

Any meter > $50 should be good enough for basic automotive troubleshooting.

I need a meter that will repeat the reading when checking the same thing. A friend of mine showed up with a old one he had that still worked. We found that there is a bad injector. Testing like this can save you from buying a wiring harness or a ecm. Thats why a meter that will repeat when testing things like this is important.

The other 3 meters I had tried had me replacing injectors, valve cover gasket and part of a wiring harness.

I had tried 3 $45.00 to $65.00 meters that were crap and wouldn't hold or repeat a reading. I'm hoping my old meter shows up. Between a divorce and 2 moves I still have something I haven't been able to find.
