So I got a pretty big problem with my alignment. The alignment shop told me that they can’t align the front of my car because they said the toe and camber are maxed out and that they are rust welded and that they need to be replaced in order for them to do the alignment. Im stuck here, I’m trying to figure out what I need to do to figure this out and do it my self because mechanic’s that I have gone to see about replacing the problem are asking way to much money and are really trying to rip me off. What do I need to do to fix this problem and what parts do I need to do this myself. I could really use some help. Do I replace the outer or inner tie rod or the tie rod sleeve for the toe and do I just replace the camber bolts for my camber or the whole control arm? Oh ya and the car is a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis. Thank you.
you could start by replacing the control arm bolts. But if the rust is bad then you could be opening a whole can of worms.
Considering the value of the vehicle and the overall reliability, I would say to hang back and not get stuck in the mud with that one!
